ok I heard one theory that Muramasa could be Hisana Kuchiki (Byakuya’s Wife) Zanpakutou….just throwing something in….He is protecting his “Pride”…not much is known of Hisana but she can possibly have been a Shinigami…

I doubt it’s Hisana’s, seeing as shes a Ryoka. I’m guessing it might be Ginrei Kuchiki’s, as he hasn’t been seen since the Turn Back the Pendulum Mini-Arc. Also, his Zanpaktou’s name hasn’t been told yet. Perhaps he sided with Muramasa as he thought that his grandfather was somewhere inside him.

yo man it couldnt be zaraki kenpachi because muramasa said at the beffining if this arc that he killed his master. and what byakuyas pride can be personified, maybe his pride is a living thing like a person, and maybe it has something to do with muramasa

In a previous episode when Ichigo is fighting Muramasa in his soul, Muramasa says his owner died by his own hand, so it must be a dead shinigami. I don’t think it was Hisana because she wasn’t a shinigami.

I think Byakuya’s pride has something to do with Rukia. A while back, when he fought the 7th Espada, he said he was protecting his pride after the Arrancar used that Voodo thing on her to control her. By using his sister, he hurt his pride as a brother, or maybe as a noble.
Or maybe he’s using this opportunity to quit the Gotei 13, stop being a bureaucrat and live a little.
And maybe it’s just his catch phrase, and the screen write couldn’t think of any development to Byakuya’s character.

Umm………………I’m pretty sure that when Byakuya was doing this whole thing to “Protect his Pride,” I’m pretty sure he meant Rukya. Back when he was fighting that Arrancar that was controling Rukya, he said he was fighting to protect his pride(a.k.a Rukya). So I’m pretty the Pride he was talking about is the Pride right now. But lets see………………How Muramasa is connected with it is still confusing. Hmm……………………*shrugs* Oh well. Guess we’ll have to find out! XDD
